Simple and delicious, this iced lavender latte is the perfect way to unwind on a hot afternoon.
What is better on a hot day than an iced coffee? It’s the perfect way too cool you off and to sit and rest for a minute.
Like most gals, I enjoy a good cup of coffee out with a friend. The majority of the places around me serve more standard drinks or are a chain. So when I read about all the fun coffees that people in places like Portland and Kansas City get to sip on, I get a bit bummed that I can’t try them unless I do there.
My easy fix? Make them from scratch, which is kind of what I do if you hadn’t already figured that out. 😉
The from scratch life should include fun coffee in my opinion.
You might think that making your own “fancy drinks” at home is hard. It’s really not.
If you have coffee and milk at home, an ice cube tray, and a semi well-stocked pantry you can create just about any drink you might want to try, even if you don’t have the fancy equipment.
The fanciest my equipment is to date is a coffee grinder (sure there are some nice ones out there but just about any will do), a handheld milk frother, and an espresso percolator. That’s it.
From there you can create all the things from scratch and smile because you didn’t even have to waste gas to get to the coffee shop.
Instead of meeting a friend for coffee you could have them over and make their favourite drink for them.
For a while now I’ve been hearing about lavender lattes. I am a huge fan of lavender. So I knew that I had to make one!
When you have a batch of lavender simple syrup on hand you can make an iced lavender latte in just a few minutes. The syrup is so easy to make!
There are a few ways you can go about making an iced latte. The “correct method” and a couple of cheater hacks.
It all up to you! Honestly, I normally go with the cheater hacks.
Iced Lavender Latte 3 Ways
- Cold milk of choice + 1 or more shots of espresso + ice + lavender syrup
- Cold brew + cream or milk + ice + lavender syrup
- Leftover coffee + cream or milk + ice + lavender syrup
If you are a decaf person, that’s okay. For me it’s all about the taste and not the caffeine. I’ve become more sensitive to caffeine as of late so I have been mixing my caffeinated coffee with decaf. My adrenals thank me for it.
My decaf coffee of choice right now by Laird Superfood from Azure Standard. It’s a hearty, dark roast. It is the perfect balance for lattes. Azure is my go-to for almost my entire pantry!
