Fresh Squeezed Lemonade {Cooking Through Little House}

Fresh Squeezed

A glossy white cloth covered the table. On it was a beautiful sugar white cake and tall glasses… “Is your lemonade sweet enough?” Mrs. Olsen asked. So Laura knew that it was lemonade in the glasses. She had never tasted anything like it. (On the Banks of Plum Creek)

Welcome to my fourth post of Cooking Through “Little House”. Thanks for coming along on the journey so far in trying out some foods from my favorite childhood books. Today as you already know is lemonade. The lemon trees at our school are producing in abundance right now making this the perfect time of year to make a nice refreshing glass of lemonade.


Fresh Squeezed Lemonade {Cooking Through Little House}
  • 1½ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 6 cups of water
  • ⅓ cup raw honey
  1. Warm one cup of water. Stir in the raw honey until it is dissolved.
  2. Mix with the remaining 5 cups of water and chill before serving!

Lemonade is one of my favorites, but I absolutely flip over limeade because my granny used to make it for me, and now, i keep limes in whey, water and sugar and make continuous limeade whey soda!
