This past week I have been visiting friends in Wisconsin and Michigan. My friend Alisha and  I met up with some of my favorite families the Whitted’s (Kevin, Allison, Kailey, Zach and Andrew) It has been a fun, relaxing and rejuvenating time. It’s a bit weird going to sleep after 1am and not getting till 8 or so in the morning. Definitely not what I’m used to but that’s the schedule my friends are on so it works.  God has been showing me himself in so many ways! We started off our trip visiting friends Angie and Kristine in Wisconsin and going to a Christian music festival, Lifest where Kristen, was interpreting for the Deaf. There where many wonderful speakers and bands! The beauty of this part of the country just takes my breath away! We have such a creative God! I love the Midwest. It’s actually making me miss all of my extended family in Missouri. One of my favorite things is watching the lighting bugs come out each night. I don’t know why but we don’t have them in California or Baja California. Alisha has never seen them before so it’s been fun seeing her get excited and running around trying to catch them! I have to admit that the kid in me comes out and I’ve joined her in catching many lighting bugs. It always brings back great memories of visiting my Missouri family in the summer. Oh and all the forests and lakes, clouds, flowers, plants…I’m such a nature girl. I’ve seen all sorts of herbs growing. I’ve had to restrain myself to not uproot my friends’ echinacea or pick plantain, mullein and elder flowers from the road sides. We’ve also just had a lot of quality time visiting and getting to know people from a couple churches up here that visited our school this spring. I feel so blessed getting to reconnect and meet some amazing people.
