I love a mocha frappuccino on a hot day. This frap is no exception, it is a power house of nutrients, making it the perfect pick me up snack to give you the energy boost you need.

Coconut milk is full of lactic acid and provides you with a source of good fat. It also contains anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties.

Coffee may get a bad rep because of the caffeine it also has antioxidants.

Water kefir or kombucha while different from each other in their make up, both are full of probiotics, adding good bacteria to your gut. They have a detoxing effect and have been known to prevent cancer and liver disease among other things.

Raw honey contains anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. It can balance sugar levels, strenghten the immune system and promote digestive health.

Cocoa powder contain anti-oxidants and can improve blood flow.

Peppermint contain many minerals and vitamins. It energizes the immune system, improves blood circulation, eases headsches and has a cooling effect on the body.

If you want you can drizzle a little melted dark chocolate on top for that finished look and deliciousness. Or try drizzling magic chocolate shell on top.
If you don’t want to use coconut milk try subsisting 2 ½ cups or raw cream or 1 of cup of raw cream and 1 ½ cups of raw whole milk. You could use another milk, like almond milk but it won’t be as thick and creamy.

Avoiding coffee? Use black tea instead. To learn more about the coffee read  The Nourishing Gourmet’s Should We Drink Coffee?

Power House Peppermint Mocha Frappe
1 can full fat coconut milk
2 cups strong black coffee
2 cups water kefir or kombucha
4 cups ice cubes
1/4- 1/2 cup raw honey (I prefer less sweet)
1/3 cup cocoa or cacao powder
2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp peppermint extractAdd everything to a blender. Blend until smooth. This makes two large or four small frappuccinos.

I’m guessing you used unflavored water kefir/kombucha? I’m so curious about how including those would affect the flavor! I might just have to try this…

Yes, I use unflavored. If I was to use flavored I would leave out the peppermint. Raspberry water kefir/kombucha might taste good. Hum, that gives me a an idea…. 🙂

[…] Bold and spicy chai with just a hint of sweetness, it’s icy perfection mingling with creamy milk; the perfect chai latte summer style. I love tea –if you couldn’t guess – but there are some days, like today, with temps reaching over triple digits that I just can’t do it. That’s where this awesome chai tea “fauxccino” comes in. It cools you off while still giving you that rich and delicious flavor of the chai tea we know and love. If you are frappe fan you also might like this Salted Carmel Mocha Fauxccinno or this Peppermint Mocha Fauxccino. […]
