Who would think that you could learn lessons from a wall?
One stone stacked on top of another…

Containing stories of times long gone by; love, hope, shattered dreams, destruction, faith, dedication….

Not far from this place the greatest teacher once uttered the most important commandment:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

So simple, yet so hard….

When I was at the Western Wall last August I our guide spoke of the importance of loving one another and doing good. The people worshiping at the wall are so full of passion for God. They are so in love with him. Sadly they have overlooked the Messiah. Even still there is much to learn from them.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER

Sure we love God, we give out lives to his control but do we love his people? Do we truly pour out the love he gave so freely to us onto other people? When we love God with all that we are love for others should just flow out naturally. Sadly often it doesn’t. I am just as guilty as the next person. Daily we are in a battle to put others above ourselves.

9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

 John 15:9-17

We can’t do it alone but thankfully we have a gracious and loving Savior who is the perfect example who will show us how to love if you only let him.

LOVE GOD,

LOVE ONE ANOTHER
