The past couple years I have been buying raw whole milk from a cheap local source when availble and occationaly from the store when I go to the states. One of my favorite ways to enjoy it in the summer time is as a frothy chocolate milk! So yummy, cool and refreshing! I make mine with local raw honey for an added health boost and to help with my alergies.

Frothy Chocolate Milk

1 pint (about two cups) raw milk
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 TBS raw honey
1 pinch of Real Salt or Celtic Sea Salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Pour all the ingredients into your blender and blend until the cocoa powder has been mixed in. With my cheap Oster blender it took two minutes but I’m sure that a Blendtec or Vitamix could do it in less than a mintue. Makes one large serving (just over one pint) or two small 1/2 pint servings. Serve in glass canning jars becasue, it’s fun and looks neat!

I love how you have served this delicious and healthy treat in the canning jars! Your recipe is so much healthier than commercial chocolate milks, and it sounds really yummy too.

We add egg yolks to our chocolate milk and call it chocolate nog. The kids love it and I can get some good farm fresh milk and raw yolks in my kids without them complaining. Makes the texture creamier too!
