Today I have a special guest post for you from a amazing young woman that I met through the blogging world. RJ is the owner and editor of Virtuous Girlhood. It’s a great blog for Christian teens and young women. You’ll find me blogging over there occasionally.

This is RJ from VirtuousGirlhood.com. Katie was nice enough to let me guest post today and I wanted to share this easy and healthy cookie dough dip recipe with you all!

I am currently on a sugarless diet. (sort of) And I saw a recipe for cookie dough dip. I died. I love cookie dough, but I was not about to eat a 600 calorie sugar laden dip.

There are lots of recipes for a healthy cookie dough dip, but all of them call for ingredients that I didn’t have and they were not easy. So I revamped several of the recipes, mushed them all together, and came up with this! It’s oh-so easy and can be made within five minutes. The best part? It tastes exactly like cookie dough.

(Note from Katie, I made this last week for some friends and my girls, they loved it! I’m sure you will too.)

Real Food Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip

Ingredients:
2 cups of chick peas (You can buy a can in the store. Just be sure to drain them.)
1/2 tsp. of salt
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
2 tsp. of vanilla
3 TBSP of brown sugar, agave nectar, or xylitol
2 TBSP of coconut oil (or any oil)
2 TBSP of milk
(Note from Katie, other options for sweeteners are, raw honey or sucant. For milk you can substitute, coconut, almond or raw.)
Directions:

Mix everything together in a food processor. Or pulse in a blender. Everything, BUT the chocolate chips. You want to pulse it until everything is really smooth. When you finish just add chocolate chips and serve!

This tastes exactly like cookie dough dip. No one will know any difference. You can enjoy this with any sort of cracker or dipping thing. Fresh fruit would be yummy too.

Looks delicious! I saw a similar recipe a while back and have wanted to try it ever since, but I never have any chocolate chips around. 🙁 Ah well, one of these days…

I am so making this! And I am not even going to wait for a special occasion! This dip looks wonderful. I love that you still used chickpeas as the base. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

what a great idea using chickpeas as cookie dough! somehow I liken it to sweet hummus haha. would say, keep away from xylitol which is an artificial sweetener though!

Thanks for pointing that out about xylitol Shu Han. I actually never use it myself I left it in out of respect for the young woman that shared the recipe. I think I’ll add a note at the bottom about it.

Really? I never knew that about xylitol! A nutritionist friend of mine told me to check it out. Personally, I’ve never used it, but thanks for letting me know. 🙂
